I knew coming into this race not feeling 100%
but felt good enough to race. This week I only
did 1 ride for an hour which I knew wasn\'t great
but hey the race is only 45 min how bad could
I do... Warmed up on the trainer for 30 min and
then did 1 warm up lap to see the course and mud
whch was pretty flat and fast.
Not much to say other than I got dropped from
the start which was humbling and I over compensated
by picking the worst lines possible through all
the mud sections which hurt me more and more.
Andrew Sr. was cheering me on as I passed him
but all I could think about was this stinks. I
finished not real far behind the main group but
enough to know I didn\'t have any thing left in
the tank. My little engine was burnt and I need
a new by next weekend.
It was a good course but with no real run up it
just didn\'t feel right and the run up is a good
equalizer for field. The mud just seems to sap
everything out of you and 5 times around was brutal
but 1 more race to go at Watsonville for the season
and then it\'s time to focus on road.
