Prologue
- 8 mile ITT
No handicap given in time trial. Top 30-40%
of scratch times will ride in the A group;
remaining times in the B group.
Criterium
Distance: 25 miles (20 laps) - A Group
Distance: 20 miles (16 laps) - B Group
TOUR DE LAGOS (Tour of the Lakes)
Distance: The A group will complete three
laps approx 50 miles.
Distance: The B group will complete two laps
approx. 33 miles.
GROUP
A - WINNER JACKSON STEWART
Jackson
Stewart Wins SJBC Vuelta.
A total of over 30 riders participated in
this years annual club stage event. This year
the overall stage winner was taken by Jackson
Stewart in a very close finish over Andy Schaffer.
Going into the final stage, the 50 mile road
tour, Jackson had a small lead on General
Classification. At about the 20 mile mark
both Jackson Stewart and Andy Schaffer got
a breakaway going that eventually grew to
approximately 2 minutes over the main pack.
Jackson's lead on G.C. was only 25 seconds
over Andy. So eventually instead of the two
riders working together to enlarge the break,
the two riders became involved in a duel of
attrication. However, Andy took two of the
10 second time bonuses over the wall. This
left Jackson with a slim 5 second lead going
into the finish. At the base of the climb
going into the finish, Jackson attacked getting
a gap on Andy that eventally was the deciding
factor. So Jackson took the stage win and
also the 30 second time bonus for the overall
win with Andy taking second place and the
20 second time bonus. Over two minutes later,
the field sprint was taken by Craig Lindberg
with a pack of 5 riders on his heels.
