GROUP
A - WINNER MATT DUBBERLEY
PROLOGUE:
The time trial was held under near perfect
conditions. Stewart and Dubberly set the early
time to beat with an 18:05 for the 7.5 mile
course. The later starters all came in above
this mark until Gaver set a new time of 17:27,
and shortly after van Dijk rode into 2nd with
17:54.
CRITERIUM: The criterium started fast with
the duo of Stewart and Dubberly heading up
the road. The chase was slow to form and Dubberly
and Stewart stayed away for 10 laps to take
the mid-point time bonuses with Parker taking
the 3rd place bonus. The field came together
after the prime and no attacks were allowed
more than a few seconds before being pulled
back. The field settled in for the final sprint
with everyone hungry for time bonuses. Stewart
took the win, with Dubberly in second and
Parker in 3rd.
TOUR DE LAGOS: The lakes tour had a number
of valiant attacks, but the GC leaders were
not about to let anything up the road. Dubberly
and Spano flew up the Wall to take time bonuses,
but all the favorites stayed together until
the final ascent of the wall. With the time
bonuses Dubberly solidified his lead and Spano
leapfrogged into 4th.

GROUP
B - WINNER MIKE VELLA
PROLOGUE:
The B group was formed by riders whose prologue
time was around 20 minutes and above. This
cut-off set the stage for an exciting event
since 6 riders were barely a minute apart.
CRITERIUM Real fast start with a rider (name
unknown but with a IRISH accent) bolting for
a breakaway 20 feet from the start! Who would
have thought that would be a strategy! The
pace continued fast with the same unknown
rider attempting the same attack somewhere
in lap 10. Alex Blease won the first prem.
As the sun disappeared, the group set themselves
up for a very fast last lap. The Xilinx team
members set Alex Blease up for the last sprint
but Vella and Steve M. pulled past Alex in
the final meters to take the victory. The
group did a great job of chasing down the
breaks, and fun was had by all :-)) Ouch!
(report from Scott Lewis)
TOUR DE LAGOS : This race stayed together
right until the last climb over the wall.
Mike Vella displayed his good climbing abilities,
taking both hill top time primes. Five miles
to go, a five man break away with Mike Vella,
Alex Blease, Jonathon DiBlasi, Steve Mielich,
and that Irish guy! (me)...James Begley worked
to finish off the last five miles. We finished
in that order, with Mike Vella securing the
overall lead in the Veulta. (report from James
Begley)
