Changes to the Vuelta de San Jose - now a 1 day event!

We've got some exciting changes to announce regarding the Vuelta de San Jose!

It's currently scheduled for Sunday, September 28th and will consist of an individual time trial, a road race, and a BBQ afterward. We've dropped the criterium from the event so that the entire event can be run in a single morning/afternoon with a target completion time of 1:30 - 2:30pm. We hope that this will allow more people to attend.

The start of the event will be at the Uvas parking lot where we have our Winter Series road races. Registration will open shortly after 8:00am with a riders meeting at 8:45am. The first event will be the individual time trial with a start time of 9:00am. It will leave the parking lot heading north and end at the Chesbro parking on the other side of the reservoirs (the parking lot on Oak Glen shortly before you reach Llagas Ave). Total distance is 7.8 miles. Should be a challenging time trial!

Times from the time trial will then be used for seeding the A's, B's, and possibly a C group (if we have enough riders). The Women will have their own group. That's right, no racing with the men (unless you want to) !!

Then there will be a 1.5 hour break and then we'll have a road race starting at noon. The A's will do 3 laps, while the B's and Women will do 2 laps. The C's will do 1 lap.

The event will be scored Omnium style. Points will be assigned based on where you place in each event, and the person with the most points wins. This also means that you can participate in either or both events. For instance, you can skip the time trial and just do the road race, or visa versa.

Afterward we'll have a BBQ for everyone to enjoy!

Cost will be $15 for members, and $25 for non-members. You can also purchase a membership at the event for $50 that will be good until the end of 2015!

Please download the release form and have it filled in advance of registration.

Note: We still have spots open for a course marshal and B and C group mentors. Contact if you can help.

Hope to see you there!
