Due to a course conflict with the Morgan Hill Marathon, the Winter Series event for this weekend has changed to Criterium #1 . Extended forecast calls for clear and sunny weather.
Categories will be assigned based on the prologue results. If you feel that your assigned category is too low or too high, please be sure contact the Winter Series Coordinator
For those that signed up to volunteer at Criterium #1, please contact the volunteer coordinator to verify that you can still work your position(s). Thanks!!
Thanks to all that attended the Winter Series prologue!
Nice weather and a slight tailwind made for very fast times overall. Johannes Stephens once again led the pack with a time of 4 minutes, 30 seconds. Just 12 seconds off the course record set by Brian Baccus is 2008 (4:18).
See you next week at the first Criterium!

This year we will have three coordinators again. Jason Wiener will be taking care of the Crit's and Curtis Lindsey will be coordinating the road races. Brian Shuman will be handling TT's.
This is the time of the year again to make sure you have a membership and if you don't you can always buy one at the event which is good until the end of 2015. We also have season passes available for purchase at the first two events for $80 (which is a $30 savings). Note: For those attending the Clinic, a season pass is included.
Volunteer positions are open! Please look here to see what positions are available and contact email@example.com to reserve your spot.
See you all there!
San Jose Bicycle Club presents its seventh annual Winter Series Clinic on Saturday, October 25th from 9 am to 3 pm in North San Jose.
The clinic will focus on beginning racer skills, from pinning on a race number to high speed cornering to pack riding skills, all with a focus on safety. Past clinics have been a rousing success, with most of the clinic graduates participating in the Winter Series. Many continued on to race USA Cycling sanctioned events.
The cost of $140 includes instruction from five of the club's race team members, a one year membership to San Jose Bicycle Club ($50 value), a season pass to all 11 SJBC Winter Series events (a $80 value) and lunch. Student to instructor ratio is 6:1, with a 30 registrant limit.
Juniors (18 and under) will be accepted for $10 (cost of lunch) and space is limited to six juniors.
Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. We filled within a few weeks last year...sorry, no refunds as we have a limited amount of space.
For all the details and how to sign up, please click on the "Clinic" tab on the 2014 Winter Series home page .
